Senior Pastor, Central Baptist Church - Houston, Texas

Larry Maddox was saved on November 16, 1969 and surrendered to full-time ministry in 1970. He earned his Doctorate in Ministry and Philosophy from Louisiana Baptist University.He is the Senior Pastor of Central Baptist Church in Houston, Texas where he has served for 52 years after joining the staff in 1972. In October of 1975, he was called by the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Phoenix, Arizona, a mission outreach of Central Baptist Church. He served there for short time, and then came back to Central in 1977 as Co-Pastor. Soon afterwards Central called him as Pastor and he continues to serve as Senior Pastor.

In 2005, Dr. Maddox became the president of Central Missionary Clearinghouse. He had served on the Board of Directors for several years under the leadership of Dr. Jack Bridges. We give God all the praise for His continued blessings upon Central Missionary Clearinghouse. Dr. Maddox has had the privilege of visiting many of our missionaries on the field. He has a real heart for missionaries and pastors.

He and his son, Roy, who serves as his Co-Pastor, minister to the Central Baptist Church in West Houston. Under the leadership of Dr. Maddox, Central Baptist Church has become known as a church with a heart for missions.
