Discipleship Pastor, Central Baptist Church - Houston, Texas
Kent was raised in Northern Missouri and Southern Iowa. Although he attended church sporadically throughout his childhood, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 18. After surrendering to full-time ministry, he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and later earned his Bachelor of Theology and Master of Theology degrees from Antioch Baptist Seminary.
Before coming to Central Baptist Church as Discipleship Pastor, Kent began his ministry in 1987 as a Youth Pastor in Texas and Oklahoma and as a Pastor in Missouri, Kentucky and Texas.
Kent has been married to his wife, Karen, since 1984. She actively serves alongside him in ministry. They have a son, Kyle, who is a police officer for Pasadena Independent School District, and a daughter, Kelsey, who is a teacher for Katy Independent School District and works with Cool Kids Ministries. Kent and Karen also have four wonderful grandchildren: Abigail, Addison, Kolton, and Rose.
Kent is deeply committed to ensuring that Central Baptist Church continues to effectively reach and serve the community in alignment with the Great Commission. He possesses a profound passion for missions and a heartfelt appreciation for missionaries, considering it a distinguished honor to serve on the Board of Directors of Central Missionary Clearinghouse.
